Desktop, because the Android version is absolute rubbish / unusable on most Android phones. When rating the mobile app, Pleeeeease specify whether you're rating the iOS or Android versions. They're totally different animals.

well you just acquired a new subscriber - me. i loved how concise you were and how your everyday language hit the spot with this elder san franciscan lady. i am on the fence about purchasing this so giving myself 30 days to wait and think about adding this to my purse. i had and gifted to my sis the insta360 r-twin edition because it was not compatible with my two latest phones and it was too frustrating to learn. i will wait and see. i also gave you a well deserved thumb up rating as a 'thank you' for posting and i await your future videos.

Hi Becca, I have a HERO 5 Black, transfering videos from my GoPro to my phone takes too much time to enjoy the editing and posting the videos on SM. I tried it once and never used it afterwards. A 10 minute video is 5GB: How long does it take to transfer it from the InstaOne X2 to a phone and can you use a USB C to C cable for this process?

Thanks for the review! I use both apps: the desktop app to get the frame exactly right, the phone (Android) version is better / faster for the lookaround. Both have deficiencies though...

Really should call out that your praise for the GoPro desktop app is ONLY for the Mac version, the windows version availability was over a year after the Max hit the market, and is a buggy feature limited mess.

I use the one-x a lot. My biggest gripes were that the case would fog and the battery life. Being able to ditch the case and have the battery last longer are both huge improvements for using it kiteboarding

I saw you put the camera face down. Is the fish eye lens easy to get scratched?

insta360 didn't upgrade the video resolution, it's still 5.7K 30fps since one x from 2 years ago. 30fps is quite unusable if you are walking.

You mentioned the GoPro desktop app is great, how's it's mobile app compared to insta360s? I love the idea of using a mobile app if possible, but wouldn't wanna sacrifice being able to do it on the desktop.

Been waiting for this particular Becca video ever since the rumors of this camera. Aaaand also disappointed in there not being a spec bump. That must be coming in the "R2” or whatever they’ll call it. EDIT: spec bump in resolution or frame rate, or bit rate.

@CallMeRabbitzUSVI This design is a lot sturdier, with no gaps or moving parts. It doesn't require a frame to be waterproof, which also means you can change the battery much easier, even while it's mounted. The screen is bigger, brighter and higher resolution, despite being round. Purely as a 360 cam, this design is better. Yeah, you lose versatility, but many people already have a gopro anyway. This feels like a great companion to it!

@CallMeRabbitzUSVI Not everyone cares for the action cam form factor. The candy bar form factor of most 360 cams like the One X make for better stitching. They added water proofing, better battery life, a viewable touch screen, higher bit rate, better mic and some other bits and pieces to the One X but you need to remember that this was developed side by side with the One R. It was not meant to replace it. They will probably do that next year with the One R2. If you want modularity, just wait for that one.

Yeah thats why I'm confused too, the One R is the same Price, has modularity, does all the same 360 tricks and a bit more with more modules. Why did Insta release this?

@The Verge exactly! This thing gets hot 🔥 even with the fan. I'm looking into all the examples on the ONE X2 because it has the run and gun style I like with my GoPros and the swappable batteries, while being as pocketable as the Omso Pocket (and the Pocket 2)

Was stoked for 8k with the Qoocam but once I saw all the overheating issues and not so wonderful color science I realized great 8k was further away than I thought. -b
